Best Airline

Flybe

Flybe, one of Europe's largest regional airlines, has been named a finalist in the Best Airline category at the HolidayExtras.com Customers' Awards 2010.

Operating nearly 200 flight routes, the airline, which has major bases at Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton airports, was founded in 1979 as Jersey European Airways.

"Aircraft very good, good leg room and good leather chairs."

Taken over by the Walker Steel Group in 1983, Jersey European Airways would eventually be merged with Spacegrand Aviation and be rebranded British European in June 2000. A further rebranding to Flybe would take place in 2002, with the airline repositioning itself as a leading low-fares operator.

Today, Flybe operates flights to 65 points throughout Europe, with leading destinations including Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan, Paris and Toulouse.

The airline is dedicated to providing customers with the best service possible. In fact, the airline aims to operate 99 per cent of its schedule and aims for 90 per cent of their aircraft to arrive at their destination within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. With such lofty targets, there's little surprise that the airline has been named a finalist in the Best Airline category.
