Past the life-size red bear is the welcoming entrance (you'll know it when you see it). The greenery waved us into the modern yet industrial lobby, and the red rope leading to the 360° reception gave us a hint of what was to come – the friendly hotel team gave us the red carpet treatment, making us feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the doors.
Past the lobby seating and faux fireplace sits the fashionable bar and restaurant. The signature red and black motif with hints of white, as well as the eye-catching minimalist artwork made us do a double-take around every corner and created a contemporary feel throughout the hotel.
Location
Just around the corner from Gatwick, the Radisson RED is a 4-minute drive. There's a shuttle bus that takes around 10 to 15 minutes and costs £5 each way. We found it was conveniently close to the airport, especially when driving.

Food and drink
The restaurant and bar felt welcoming with its luxurious seating, creating a fancy but comfortable dining experience. The menu was packed with tempting options, catering to a range of tastes. I particularly enjoyed the fish and chips – oh, and who could forget the scrumptious cheesecake? The sleek bar boasted an impressive selection of spirits, complemented by excellent service.
Breakfast was equally impressive, with a generous spread of full English and continental treats, with the added bonus of a dedicated pancake station (which we made the most of!).

The modern rooms had everything you need for an overnight stay. The hotel's vibe seamlessly carried through into the room – we particularly loved the vintage red phones and the bathroom so pristinely clean I almost didn't want to use it. The 49-inch TV was a bonus, luring me into unwinding earlier than planned, and the super comfy bed did its job giving me the perfect night's sleep.
Everything else
The gym had just the right gear for most workouts – the cable machine was a nice surprise, not something you usually find in a hotel gym. Plus, the towels and water were a thoughtful touch.
