Try the Ramada, a convenient stay for Stansted

With easy access from the car park, we quickly arrived at the bold entrance. Past the floor-to-ceiling windows and doors was a stylish and clean lobby, hinting at what was to come.

One of the friendliest managers I've encountered at a hotel greeted us at reception and was very helpful. With a speedy check in and a short stroll to the room, I was happy to get my feet up and watch some telly.

If you were to call this a gem found in a service station close to the airport, you'd be right. Less than 10 minutes away, even. This hotel is also close to all the parking packages on our website, so less hassle in the morning (shameless plug).

Food and drink

Now, you may think that because this is in a service station you'll be limited with choices for food and drink, however, I'd say that there is the perfect amount – from Waitrose, Starbucks and Pret, to KFC, Chopstix and a cafe for breakfast. We were able to find something tasty without doing too many laps of the food court.

For dinner we went downstairs to the restaurant for some pretty decent grub and the bar for some boozy drinks. The pesto pasta, fried platter and a pint of Guinness were my choices. The bar is at reception so we didn't have to stray far from our food.

Rooms

Okay, the beds have Hypnos mattresses so if you know, you know. If you don't know, they're super comfy. I thought the rooms were well-equipped with amenities – as long as I have my coffee in the morning I'm okay (you don't want to see me when I don't have my coffee). The bathrooms were cosy and clean and had a nice shower with Roots toiletries. The TV was on the smaller size but that didn't stop me from getting in some quality switch-off time. The wifi works well but there were wired connections just in case.
