When you're dealing with a broken heart, sometimes the best thing to do is open it up to others and try to help those less fortunate than yourself.
A perfect place to do this is the island nation of Sri Lanka, where you can find an assortment of programs that allow you to throw yourself into volunteering work, ranging from childcare to helping the elderly. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Sri Lanka is famed for its tropical beaches, lush rainforest (we definitely recommend a visit to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve) and friendly locals.
