🚶 It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal, via a covered walkway. There's also a regular, wheelchair-friendly free shuttle bus that runs between the car park and terminal.

There are a couple of villages that have excellent train links directly into Birmingham International (which is connected to Birmingham airport via the FREE 'Air-Rail Link' system), making them convenient places to find cheap, short-stay parking. We’ve narrowed down 2 car parks in 2 nearby villages - Hampton in Arden and Marston Green - that we think could be worth considering if you think you might need longer than Birmingham airport’s 20 minute free drop off parking. Please note: all car park information is correct at time of writing but subject to change.

ℹ How to get to Birmingham Airport
From Marston Green Station car park:
Simply walk from the car park to the platform (Plat. 1 usually) and catch the train straight to Birmingham International. The journey takes just 3 minutes! Prices start from £2.90 for a return ticket. The first train leaves at 04:51 and the last train is at 00:51.
From Hampton in Arden Station car park:
Make your way from the car park to the platform (Plat. 2 usually) and hop on the direct train to Birmingham International. It’s a super speedy 3-minute journey. Prices start from £2.90 for a return ticket. The first train leaves at 05:02 and the last train is at 00:01.
From Birmingham International Station catch the Air-Rail Link into Birmingham airport. Transfers on the Air-Rail Link are FREE, take 2 minutes and operate between 03:30 and 00:30 hours daily.
As you can see, if you think you might need longer than 10 minutes, it can work out cheaper to opt for an off-airport car park. For comparison, the Drop Off car park charges £42 for up to 50 minutes. So even when you factor in the train fare, you can still make a significant saving and enjoy a fast and fuss-free transfer.
Please keep in mind that the car parks at Marston Green and Hampton in Arden don’t have the same kind of capacity as the Birmingham airport car parks, so we’d always recommend getting there as early as you can to secure a space, especially during peak hours. If you’re not able to find a space in either of these alternatives, the cheapest on-airport car park is Car Park 7 (which has over 250 spaces). It’s a 10-minute shuttle bus ride away from the airport and costs just £5.00 for 3 hours.
