My flight was cancelled due to strikes in France and I had to return the day after I had planned. Holiday Extras were kind enough not to charge for the overstay in the Gatwick car park.

Like most customer who hire from this particular company,I ended up paying nearly 3 times more than what was on my voucher. I had £136 payable at the counter but ended up paying 333 Euro and that includes the 15 Euro for the toll. I made a mistake when i was booking re the drop time. I contacted you few days before my trip to change it but the response came late.

When we arrived the only section which was open for parking was zone B however when we came to board the bus the lady driver told us this zone was closed and would have to walk to zone E or move our car . I feel the driver could have offered a better customer service by taking us to this zone rather than having to walk all the way back to our car to move it or to the next pick up point. Was not impressed.

We parked at the parking spot A and we were sitting in the bus for 10 minutes driving around the parking lot and last stop was us. How does I it make sense parking spot A to be last? Isn't A usually the first one?? Poor structure of the parking.

Everything went very smoothly and was a great deal cheaper than using a taxi would have been. In general I was impressed, but I have two reservations with Gatwick Long Term Parking, not with Holiday Extras. Firstly, the paperwork sensibly suggests you make a note of your parking space number on the back of your ticket to make things easier on your return. But the parking spaces have no obvious space number marked on them, or at least I was totally unable to find it. I had to remember which bus stops I was near and roughly where I was in relationship to them. The other is that when I returned to Gatwick, I quickly found the stop for the shuttle bus to the car park and placed my small case on the pavement close to the road ready to left it onto the bus. When the bus arrived it swept over the edge of the pavement by about two feet dragging my case underneath it. When I remonstrated with the driver he said he had to do that in order to get very close to the pavement. I rather wondered how my child would have fared if it had been a pushchair rather than a case. Maybe if this is strictly necessary there should be a keep-back line painted on the pavement as there is at train stations? I was not amused when I got off the bus at the car park to find that the long pull handle of my suitcase no longer slid out for me to use to pull it along. Next time I travel I will take a photo of my car's location and keep well back from the edge of the pavement, but I shouldn't have to do either.

Very easy process, one minor hitch when exiting the car park the system said there was an o/s balance, was soon resolved by the staff - but make sue you take your paperwork with you...
