As comfortable as it gets
If we had to pick two words to describe the Heathrow Sofitel rooms, they would be 'luxurious' and 'comfortable'. Despite being a big-name hotel, the rooms are themed and decorated in different colours, so none of them lack personality. Our very own CEO swears by the comfort of the Sofitel MyBeds and you'll struggle to find a more-comfortable bed in an airport hotel. You can even buy one for yourself from the hotel!
The Sofitel gives you that little bit of extra peace of mind by ensuring that you can only access the lifts by your room key card. The windows will likely overlook the airport or the hotel's lobby, but either way you can be sure of quiet due to the triple-glazed glass. A few guests might even get a view of the hotel's beautiful Zen garden. If you feel like toasting the start of your holiday, there are ice machines on every floor.
All the hotel's rooms are air conditioned and have a flatscreen TV with satellite channels and pay-per-view movies. You'll find a mini-bar fridge and a safe, along with free mineral water. Of course, there will be a phone, hair dryer and the obligatory tea and coffee tray. There's a radio in the bedroom and another in the bathroom, along with free wifi access, with a capped bandwidth.
The en suite is where the real luxury comes in, housing a full-sized bath and a separate power shower. Mirrors are coated to remain mist free and there's even a magnifying make-up mirror. The Balmain toiletries complete the luxury theme.
Standard rooms come with either a queen-size double bed or twin single beds and connecting rooms are available. Family rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed big enough for two children. Accessible rooms for the disabled are available. For an extra bit of luxury, the hotel's upgrade rooms offer an extra TV in the bathroom, along with bath robes and a free breakfast.
