The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and most helpful. My only complaint is with Bristish Airways for only reserving our room and not paying the hotel the money i'd paid them in January, it did mean a delay in checking in which the hotel staff dealt with as quickly as they could following a conversation with B.A.which verified it was B.A. error.

it should be emphasised more that cancellations due to airport faults must happen 24 hours before a flight. Most cancellations by companies happen within 24 hours - you do not normally get 24 hours notice that your flight will be cancelled. In our case we fot 4 hours notice and therefore could not re-claim our airpark charges.
