More than just a plane meal
The Thistle Hotel Heathrow has one formal restaurant First Edition a long, bright and rather chic affair with an entire wall of windows looking straight over the airport. With the runway just a few hundred metres away, there is no better spot for dramatic dining at night.
The restaurant also has a large outdoor patio for those who prefer dining al fresco in the summer months, but it can get loud out there! Inside, the restaurant is elegant yet not imposing, so families, groups or couples will feel equally at home.
The menu has a good range of traditional dishes with a modern twist. Dine a la carte with choices like pigeon breast to start, rib eye steak with Portobello mushrooms, goat's cheese and a poached egg, or chicken breast with pea and broad bean risotto as a main course. Top it off with an Eton mess or a fresh fruit salad.
Alternatively, there are lighter bites like pizza, pasta or a good range of fish dishes, salads or sandwiches with classic fillings. Or for those with a taste for something a little different can choose from items like lamb kleftiko, Thai red curry, Singapore noodles or nasi goreng. Traditional desserts like hot apple pie or banana split are a delight.
First Edition

Many of these dishes can also be ordered for lunch, which can be taken in the relaxed downstairs setting of the Oak and Avocado Lounge - a lovely place to relax and wind down in comfortable chairs. Breakfast
The First Edition restaurant is also your venue for breakfast in the morning, where you can enjoy the traditional English or a generous range of fruit, cereals, cold cuts or pastries. Alternatively, if you have an early flight you can order a breakfast box to take with you.
