The Thistle Hotel, Heathrow: A plane-spotter's dream!
Thistle Heathrow hotel, located near Terminal 5, is the perfect choice if you need a hotel close to the airport (and love plane spotting!). Overlooking the the Terminal 5 runway, the hotel is contemporary and comfortable, with free, unlimited wifi throughout, and staff that really go out of their way to welcome you. Another thing that's attractive about the Thistle is its location; most hotels are on the Heathrow 'strip' along the A4, making them ideal for transfers to either: Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4, or Terminal 5 - but the Thistle is perfectly placed between all so no matter where you're flying from, you can reach any terminal in a matter of minutes.
Plane-lovers certainly won't want to miss out on dinner in the hotel's First Edition restaurant, which has a prime view of the runway ... and the menu's pretty good, too.
If you're travelling to the airport by car, the Thistle is a great park and fly hotel. It has 450 spaces on site, so there's plenty of room to leave your car securely while you enjoy your holiday. Transfer links are good too: the Heathrow Hoppa pulls right up to the front door, or you can catch the free Heathrow bus from the street to terminal 5 or to Heathrow central for terminals 1, 3 and 4.

Getting to the airport
Take one of the hotel's driverless pods to the terminal. An excellent, environmentally conscious option for a quick 5-minute journey to Terminal 5. It costs £8 per person each way, from 4am to 12.15am. These pods exclusively connect Terminal 5 with the Thistle Hotel.
Need to get to another terminal? Once you're at Terminal 5, take the free Heathrow Express to reach your terminal.
Alternatively, the hotel can arrange a taxi to take you to the terminal. A taxi costs between £12 and £20 and takes 10-20 minutes, depending on the terminal.

Parking
Overnight parking at the hotel is £15 if you need it and is first come first served. Directions and a postcode for satnavs will be on your booking confirmation.

Rooms
Standard rooms are air-conditioned, simple and practical. Although it's close to the airport, you wouldn't know with triple-glazed windows in every room.

Aviator Restaurant – 5pm to 10pm daily
When evening rolls around, there's a lot to choose from at the Aviator restaurant, from classic fish & chips to pizza and pasta – there's bound to be something to tempt your tastebuds. So unwind and enjoy dinner overlooking the planes at Terminal 5. It's the perfect spot to kickstart your holiday!
Lobby Lounge – 7am-5pm daily
The Lobby Lounge is open daily for drinks and snacks throughout the day. With a light lunch menu including sandwiches and pizza, it's just right to keep you going until dinner!
Bar
Aviator Sports Bar – 1pm-11pm daily
Head over to the fresh-out-the-hangar Aviator Sports Bar to catch the latest live sports action, or to unwind with a game of pool. Enjoy a chilled pint or perhaps a cocktail, and maybe treat yourself to something off the Bar Menu – perhaps a tasty burger, a sky-high onion ring tower or you can't go wrong with classic nachos.

Aviator Restaurant - 6am-10am weekdays, 6am-10.30am on weekends
It's a full English and continental buffet where you can eat as much as you like. Expect all the staple items, as well as omelettes made to order for £15.

The 24-hour grab-and-go fridge in the Lobby Lounge has sandwiches, salads and bottled drinks.

Very pleased with the hotel and parking option. Had an early morning flight at T5 Heathrow and didn't want to leave my car too far from the airport. The hoppa bus or Pod serves the Thistle hotel and would definitely recommend.
