Most airlines will need you to pass through security a couple of hours before your flight is due to take off.

During the interim, you're free to spend some time in the duty free shops and wait in the departure areas.

The basic departure lounges are not the easiest place to look after a baby for what could be several hours at a time. Often with only rows of plastic chairs and basic changing facilities, they can be very crowded for a popular flight and be somewhat daunting to young children.
