The Sandman Signature at London Gatwick, Crawley has all the benefits of a big hotel but it sets out to deliver the kind of intimate, friendly atmosphere you’d find in your own home. The Sandman Signature is flexible enough to suit the needs of both family and business travellers, making sure you're fully at home from the moment you cross the threshold.
Everything smooth, but hotel reception said room would be much cheaper rate if booked directly.

Expect a warm welcome
The Sandman Signature is one of the larger Gatwick airport hotels, but it operates as if it were much smaller, with a focus on unhurried, quality customer service. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be made to feel welcome by the friendly staff, who are keen to help you with whatever you need to get your holiday off to a relaxing start.
Easy to find, easy to get away
The Sandman Signature is an excellent choice for those travelling to Gatwick airport by car. Located just a four-minute drive from junction 10 of the M23, it is almost impossible to miss when driving in from the motorway, and there are lots of different parking options to chose from once you’re there. Book your vehicle into Purple Parking park and ride, just a 10 minute drive away, or for the ultimate in parking convenience, choose the Gatwick Maple Meet and Greet parking service and your car will be picked up from the Sandman Signature and returned to you at either the north or the south terminal when you land. If you’re coming by public transport, Three Bridges rail station is just a 10-minute walk away, or about £8.50 in a taxi.
The Sandman Signature's restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and a wide-ranging, high-quality menu for both lunch and dinner, as well as an inviting bar area. There’s free wifi in the lobby, bar and restaurant, and a gym. Handy for any forgotten holiday must-haves, there’s also a huge, 24-hour Tesco Extra just a five-minute walk away.

Families – All the hotel’s rooms are extremely spacious and, with double, twin, triple and family choices, groups of any size can be easily accommodated. There are also plenty of interconnecting rooms, so the kids can even have a room of their own, and children of all ages are allowed in the bar until 10pm.
Food and drink – The food at the Sandman Signature's restaurant is of excellent quality and reasonably priced. The same menu is served in the bar, giving you the option of foregoing a formal restaurant atmosphere for more relaxed surroundings. There’s also a good selection of wines and the bar is open until late.
Parking – Combine your overnight stay with Purple Parking park and ride to keep things quick and simple on the day of your flight; park overnight at the hotel, drive to Purple Parking the next day and from there hop on the free transfer bus to the terminals. Maple Meet and Greet parking service also operates from the hotel, picking up your car from here and returning it to you at either the north or the south terminal on your return.
The forgetful – The lobby of the Sandman Signature has a handy vending machine packed with holiday essentials, including toothpaste, shaving gel, batteries and even mobile phone SIM cards. There’s also a 24-hour Tesco Extra just five minutes walk away, which is stocked with everything from sun cream to clothing – if you’ve forgotten anything, they’re sure to be selling it here.

Getting to the airport
The Sandman Signature is 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. Directions and a postcode for satnavs will be on your booking confirmation if you need them.
A taxi to the airport costs from £8.50 for a saloon car if you book through the hotel (larger taxis are available too for an extra cost).
Check in from 3pm, check out by 11am.

Restaurant
Shark Grill – 5pm to 10pm
Laid back restaurant with traditional dishes including burgers, steaks and salads – mains average £16. The Shark Burger is hugely popular and the pan-fried sea bass is delicious.
New for 2024 – look out for the Kids Eat Free offer the hotel is running through the school holidays in 2024. Perfect for your family stay, you'll get one free meal from the kids menu per child 12 years and under, with each paying adult. There's a great range to choose from including chicken or fish goujons, sausage and mash, chicken and rice plus tomato or cheese pasta.
As school holiday dates can vary, double-check the dates the hotel is running this offer.
Bar
Shark Club Gastro Bar – 4pm to 11pm
This sports bar serves a similar menu to the restaurant as well as a great selection of soft drinks, beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. Kick back and watch the game or if the sun's out, enjoy a beverage on the terrace.

It's an English and continental breakfast with hot items including eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, beans as well as all the usual continental favourites.
There's also a tea and coffee machine in the lobby for you to grab a drink before you head off – it's available from 4am to 4pm.
Things to do
The hotel has a good-size pool, sauna and gym which are free for guests to use between 7am and 9pm. The gym has a good selection of machines and free weights and towels if you need one.
After a midnight snack? You can buy cans of drinks and snacks at reception if you're feeling peckish.
