Unfortunately not the case. On arrival I found that the purchased parking in the short term car park was not available and the entrance blocked. It appears that this was clearly oversubscribed. I was advised to use a different parking area. This should be addressed by both the airport and holiday extras.

I paid the higher price for short stay parking but was directed to the upper short stay area which a friend paid £6.00 less for. the website said the car park operated on NPR, which it did not as I was held up at the barrier.

registration recognition system worked as I entered but it didn't link me to my pre booked ticket. Had to get the help desk to let me out of the car park, which they did very quickly & without undue fuss.

New car park arrangement were introduced but were not signed to let drivers know. However staff at info desk aware and information provided was accurate and quick. All went well on arrival and departure. Staff very helpful and polite.

Overall this was fine. My only comment would be that it was somewhat difficult to tell what lot to park in at Prestwick. They used to be numbered and there are two lots right next to the airport. I think I parked in the wrong one as the ticket did not recognise that I had prepaid but when I buzzed staff there was no issue and they let us out without any further payment. So all went well, it was just a little confusing at Prestwick. For their part the signage could be better and they should go back to numbered lots.

Very, very difficult to find a parking space and two that I think were the only ones left were so difficult to get into because of a metal fencing which for some reason had been stuck up. Without booking I would imagine you could find yourself totally unable to park as I assume they must have retained parking spaces for people who had booked.

Everything went smoothly. Car parking straightforward and no tickets to deal with. Intercom to speak to attendant who checks your booking and raises the barrier. Plenty parking spaces to choose from. Parked next to airport building. Same procedure on exiting. Great.
