Double AA rosette-winning dining
Tuck into first class dining in the double AA rosette-awarded Stanneylands restaurant, with its selection of contemporary British cuisine and extensive wine list in this prestigious, warm environment. Youll be served the finest, freshest ingredients by the welcoming staff who truly know this hotel inside out. The interior is a blend of quintessential British tradition and modern, yet sensitive, trend. Oak panelling that dates back to the early 1700s lines the walls of the restaurant, embracing the history and character of this multi-layered airport hotel, while folds of heavy, luxurious material are draped at every leaded window.
A top local eatery
The Stanneylands hotel Sunday lunch is renowned in the area; its a prime spot for 'ladies what lunch', so follow their lead with Mrs Kirkhams Lancashire cheese and ham hock terrine, with homemade piccalilli to start, followed by a Ballontine of chicken with wild mushrooms, mashed potatoes and chasseur sauce. Each dish is impeccably presented, and proves to be as splendid in appearance as it is in taste. But dont forget to leave a little room for dessert. The mulled plum crumble tart with vanilla and plum ripple ice will round off your meal with a satisfyingly British flavour.

For your main, spoil yourself with seared calves liver, which comes with a caramelized onion and sage mash, crisp pancetta and sauce diable, or the vegetarian truffled potato rosti with a soft-poached free range egg and sautéed woodland mushrooms. Each portion is well-sized, so youll savour every delicate mouthful, and still have room for the artistic masterpieces served for dessert. The Stanneylands strawberry pannacotta with iced Mojito is sweetness and light, while the chocolate marquise with mango and passion fruit is a refreshing take on this indulgent pud.
