Local artist Paul Francis is the third exhibitor at the Gateway Gallery within London Luton airport's arrival hall.

Developed in partnership with the Luton Cultural Service Trust, The Gateway Gallery is intended to provide a platform for local artists and to enable passengers to enjoy artwork as they pass through the airport.

Luton Airport

A resident of nearby Ampthill and member of the Artists Network Bedfordshire, Paul said:

"I was born in Luton and lived about ten minutes from the airport. We used to come up here a lot when we were kids to watch the planes. When we were older we used to cruise through in our cars. The airport was small then and things have changed a lot.

“My paintings are whatever you think they are. The exhibition space at the airport is great for my work, like the airport and any dynamic environment; the paintings reflect constant change and renewal."

Simon Earles, London Luton Airport’s General Manager: Planning & Corporate Social Responsibility commented:

"The popularity of the Gateway Gallery continues to grow and it’s really great to see passengers and staff stopping to admire the paintings on display. Paul’s work is really vibrant and catches the attention from across the arrivals hall. Interest from artists wishing to exhibit has been wonderful and we look forward to future exhibitions.”
