Parking that exceeds expectations
The hotels car park out front initially appears small, but if you follow it around the side to the back, there are plenty of spaces, including some under cover. The car park is protected by an entry and exit barrier and a high fence with barbed wire.
If you've booked parking through Holiday Extras, even if it is not at the Holiday Inn Express T5, you will not have to pay to leave your car at the hotel overnight. However, if you have only booked a room, with no parking, but you still require overnight parking at the hotel, then it will cost you £10.
Getting to the airport
Heathrow Hoppa bus H5 runs between the hotel and terminals 1, 3 and 5. It runs to terminals 1 and 3 every half hour between 4am and 11pm, and to terminal 5 every half hour between 4.50am and 11.50pm. The Hoppa doesn't run to terminal 4, but your ticket will provide free travel from terminal 5 to terminal 4 on buses H51, H53, H54 or H56.
Tickets cost £4 single or £7 return if you buy them in advance, but £4.50 single and £8 return if you buy them from the driver. Up to two children under 15 can travel free with an adult.
