How can I make my way to the terminal?
By Jon Vickery

There are two ways to get to the airport terminal from the car park: the first is by walking, the second by transfer bus.
Walking to the terminal building
It may seem obvious, but airports are busy places, and you need to be extra careful as you push baby's buggy to the terminal - especially if you are carrying or pulling heavy luggage as well. Always make sure you keep one eye on the traffic, as the complicated road systems can often mean that vehicles appear quickly and with little warning. Always use pedestrian crossings and stay on marked walkways and paths.
Make sure that any baby or toddler in a buggy or pram is secure and you have a wrist strap which will prevent the buggy or pram from rolling away. It is surprising how easy it is to momentarily let go of a buggy or pram to adjust a bag or suitcase.

Once inside the terminal, try to use lifts and escalators rather than struggling down steps with your luggage. In addition, try to find a luggage trolley as quickly as possible as this will make getting around the terminal much easier, even if your luggage has wheels.
In slippery conditions, the walk to the terminal can be additionally difficult. Make sure you wear shoes with good grip as pulling and pushing suitcases with a lack of grip may cause you to slip. The last thing you want before flying is an accident.

Using a transfer bus
While travelling to the airport via transfer bus is very safe, it is surprising how easy it is to have a small accident that can spoil your holiday. Always ensure you alight and disembark the bus carefully with your luggage. Don't rush or be rushed by others. It is very easy to have your view of the coach steps obscured by your bags. A trip or fall could cause injury and compromise the enjoyment of your holiday.

When on board the bus, please ensure you take note of any safety advice. Wearing a seatbelt is a legal requirement, and you should ensure that it is safely fastened along with those of any children you are travelling with. Before the bus departs, take note of any exits and fire extinguishers that may be needed in the event of an emergency. Please also refrain from speaking to the driver when the bus is moving as this may prove distracting.
