Luton airport has launched a multilingual communication system which can speak nine languages.
The airport will use the Aviavox system to broadcast flight information and security messages in the most suitable language for a particular flight.
It is capable of broadcasting information about particular routes and flights across different parts of the airport, so that messages with limited relevance can be targeted at those needing the information and not the whole airport.
Airport managing director Glyn Jones said: "Our customers are at the heart of everything we do."
Luton was named the UK's number one airport for passenger growth this year, after the number of passengers travelling through the airport increased by 487,311 between January and September. Nearly 10 million passengers passed through the airport last year.
