Passengers flying with easyJet this year will have the chance to help people suffering from dementia.
The airline has chosen the Alzheimer's Society as its charity for 2009 after a vote by its 7,000 employees across Europe.
The charity raises money to support people with dementia and their carers.
Passengers will be asked to donate their spare foreign change to the society during flights, and it will also receive a percentage of the profits from scratchcards sold on board.
About 700,000 people in the UK suffer from dementia, and most of them are over 65.
Symptoms can include short-term memory loss, changes in personality, and a decline in the ability to talk, read and write.
Dementia is a progressive condition and is incredibly distressing not only for sufferers but also for their families and carers.
Neil Hunt, chief executive of the Alzheimer's Society, said: "Dementia is a devastating condition that robs people of their lives.
"The Alzheimer's Society needs to raise money to care for people and find a cure, and we are thrilled to be chosen by the employees of easyJet as their charity for 2009."
easyJet chief executive Andy Harrison added: "We are delighted to be raising money to help the Alzheimer's Society and we are sure our passengers will be keen to support such a worthy cause."
