Emirates Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport has announced its next phase of operations, commencing on October 28, 2008. From 2.30pm on this date, all flights to Europe, Americas, the GCC, Africa and the Middle East will depart from Terminal 3.
Operations have already commenced to the GCC and Americas, beginning on the 14th October. The new services will increase daily movements to 168 flights, 60% of the total of the airline's services.
Phase two of the process saw the first flights to Middle East and Africa starting on October 21st. Phase three will complete the launch with flights EK003 and EK047 departing for London Heathrow and Frankfurt respectively.
The new terminal will receive its first flight from Europe, the EK008 from Heathrow to Dubai, at 7.45pm as scheduled. In its first 12 days, Emirates Terminal 3 has seen 336 flights depart and 345 arrive with 150,000 passengers passing through the terminal.
With the new destinations added to the Emirates schedule, there will now be flights to 55 online destinations from Emirates Terminal 3 including Birmingham, Glasgow, Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle in the UK.
