Newcastle International airport has now acquired Samson Aviation Services Limited, an aviation business located on the south side of the airport's site.
The deal, valued at £450,000, is part of the airport's plans to redevelop the entirety of the south side of the airport site along with a new visitor centre, viewing area, a business park and the expansion of Newcastle College's Aviation Academy.
Speaking of the acquisition, Newcastle International's chief executive, Dave Laws, stated: "We now want to build on the that success and have ambitious plans to grow business aviation and other light aircraft activity at Newcastle International over the coming years. Our aim is to transform the airport into one of the country's foremost bases for private aircraft owners."
As Newcastle International approaches it's 75th Anniversary, the airport has many plans for expanding and renovating the building to it's original 1930's glory with the hope of attracting many more passengers to the airport with it's viewing gallery and transatlantic flights.
