Good restaurants all around, great ones inside
The Ramada Crawley hotel at Gatwick is an excellent choice for food lovers, with two great restaurants the Wusungdan Chinese buffet on one side and the more formal Giggling Squid Thai restaurant on the other. You're also on Crawley's busy High Street, with more restaurants literally next door, so even if the two at the Ramada aren't for you you're bound to find something you like in town.
Wusungdan Chinese buffet
- Lunch: Monday to Saturday, noon to 2pm
- Dinner: Monday to Saturday, 5pm to 10.30pm
- Sundays: Open from noon to 10pm
Wusungdan Chinese buffet
- "It might be an idea to update promotional information and in-house booklets to acknowledge there is no restaurant available. However, the breakfast facility is good and Jenny was most helpful."

This informal Chinese buffet restaurant is an affordable place to eat for both lunch and dinner as you can eat as much as you like for a set price. Its also ideal for those who can never decide what to order as there are numerous dishes available and if you want to try all of them, you can.
The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, the only difference being the number of dishes on offer. At lunchtime at least 20 different hot dishes will be laid out along the buffet bar, while in the evenings there are at least 40 options, including everybodys favourite, crispy duck. Theres always a good split between meat and seafood but the combination of sauces and vegetables varies, depending on the season. You will, however, always find popular dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, shredded beef with chilli, chicken and mushrooms in oyster sauce and Singapore fried noodles. Desserts are also available, including pineapple and apple fritters.
Dinner is cheaper if you eat early: if youre in and out before 7.30pm, its just £10.50 per person from Monday to Thursday and £11.50 per person on Fridays and Saturdays. After 7.30pm, the price goes up by £2 per person. On Sundays, its £10.50 per person before 6pm and £12.50 per person after that.
Giggling Squid
- Lunch: Noon to 3pm
- Dinner: Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 11pm, Sunday 5.30pm to 10pm
- Room service is also available during these times.
Giggling Squid
The Giggling Squid is a classy Thai restaurant with chic, modern décor and a buzzy, brasserie-style atmosphere. Its extremely popular with locals too so we recommend booking your table in advance.
Lunch At lunchtime the Giggling Squid serves up smaller versions of the dishes from their main menu as Thai tapas. Mix and match different flavours or plump for one of the set menus.
Dinner Theres an extensive range of Thai dishes on the Giggling Squids dinner menu. Starters include chicken satay, duck spring rolls and a particularly tasty papaya salad as well as traditional tom yum soup and spicy salads. The main course selection is extensive, with fish dishes such as sea bass from nearby Shoreham, stir fries and curries made with chicken, beef and duck, and of course the eponymous giggling squid baby squids filled with minced chicken, steamed and fried in batter which the menu claims will make you smile. Desserts include local, handmade ice cream we particularly recommend the black sesame flavour.
