With the school holidays in full swing and everyone getting into that summer holiday mood, East Midlands airport has revealed the continued growth of passenger figures.
Statistics show 563,159 passengers used East Midlands airport in June, 2008 this represents a healthy rise in passengers flying from the airport; up 5% compared to June 2007.
The biggest increase in passengers was to non-EU destinations. This reflects the holidaymaker's choice to save money and fly to the good value for money destinations that are outside the eurozone such as Dalaman in Turkey.
Penny Coates, Managing Director, EMA said, "Were delighted to have exceeded half a million passengers for the second month in a row."
