Waiting at an airport for someone to pick you up isn’t much fun, and neither is choosing whether to take a bus or train at the last minute. This page provides you with the information you need to plan your arrival at Norwich airport in advance. Travelling to Norwich airport by car

The postcode for Norwich International airport is NR6 6JA, and it’s located just four miles north of the city centre. Your approach to the airport will depend on where you are travelling from, and you can find the suggested roads from each direction below:

  • South-west – You’ll drive on the A11, before switching to the A140.
  • East – Drive along the A47 from Great Yarmouth, and exit onto the A1042 and then A140 towards Cromer.
  • West – After using the A47 from King’s Lynn, exit onto the A1074. Follow signs for Norwich airport along the A140.
  • North-east – Head down the A140, away from Cromer. Take the first exit at the roundabout, following the signs to the airport.

Parking at Norwich airport

If you’re picking up a passenger from an inbound flight, we’d advise that you use the Short-Stay car park. It can be found just in front of the terminal building for easy access, and you’ll be able to park for free for ten minutes, after which you’ll be charged the following rates*:

  • Ten to 30 minutes - £1
  • Up to one hour - £3
  • Up to two hours - £6
  • Up to three hours - £9

A Long-Stay car park is also available, but rates are charged by the day, so you’ll have to be spending plenty of time at the airport!

Public transport from Norwich airport

If you decide to make your own way out of Norwich airport, you’ll be able to choose from numerous public transport options, available both close to the terminal and from the city centre.

  • Train. Norwich station is located in the city, and is a 20-minute taxi journey from the airport. You can catch Greater Anglia and East Midlands trains from the station, to locations throughout East Anglia.
  • Bus and coach. Just a few minutes from the terminal you can jump on a Park & Ride bus to travel to Norwich city centre (the service doesn’t run on weekends). First Eastern Counties Buses also offers a service to Hellesdon from a stop near to the airport.
  • Taxi. Norwich Airport Taxis has an office at the front of the terminal building. You can book a trip online, or in person, for a comfy trip at a reasonable cost.
