Picking up by car
Stepping out of the arrivals terminal to find a friendly face waiting for you, car door open, can be the perfect end to your trip. If your driver hasnt planned their journey in advance, though, you could be waiting a while.
The airport is located a 15-minute drive from Inverness city centre, so luckily its easy to find. Just join the A96 when you leave the city and follow the signs.

Finding a parking space at Inverness airport
When you reach the airport, dont just stop anywhere. Youll have to find an official car park or parking zone otherwise youll be fined. Choosing the right one can save you money and ensure that your passenger does not have a lengthy walk from the terminal. You can choose from the Short-Stay car park or the Long-Stay car park.
If youre picking up a passenger, and dont need to wait around at Inverness airport, the best option is the Short-Stay car park, located outside the airport terminal. You can then meet your passengers at the pick-up point within the car park, or at the designated meeting point in the Arrivals Zone. Either way, youll enjoy free parking for the first 20 minutes* more than enough time to meet and greet friends and family.
