  • Modern 4* hotel
  • Complimentary 24/7 shuttle to all terminals
  • Spacious and comfy rooms
  • Full service bar & restaurant
  • A fun zone for kids

The Clayton has a very handy location right on the airport grounds, with easy access to the terminals. There's a stylish bar, your choice from the tempting set menu at the restaurant, and a gym for all guests to use.

Getting to the airport

The hotel is within walking distance of the terminals or there's a 24-hour shuttle to all terminals – save you having to carry your luggage!

You can walk to each terminal. It's 5 minutes to Terminals 1 and 3, and 16 minutes to Terminal 2. We'd recommend taking the 5-minute shuttle though, to avoid crossing the busy roads.

Arriving by train? The closest station is Manchester airport train station. If you give the Clayton a call when you get to the station they'll send the shuttle to pick you up – it's included.

Check in from 2pm. Check out by 11am.

Parking

Overnight parking is £18 per car. If you want to leave your car for the whole of your trip, search for ‘airport hotels with parking'. It's often cheaper to book your hotel and parking together.

Electric vehicle charging

The hotel has two electric vehicle Type 2 connections and guests can use the hotel's 11kW chargers.

Guests can use the charging points on a first come, first served basis, and cost £25 a day.

Family rooms have 2 double beds.

Triple rooms have 1 double bed and 1 single bed.

Accessibility

The hotel accepts service animals and has:

  • Accessible lifts
  • All areas on one level, with wheelchair access to the Aviator bar
  • Lift to all floors

Accessible double and family rooms are on the ground and first floor and include:

If you'd like an accessible room you can request one when you book.

Restaurant

Grill Restaurant - 5pm - 10pm

The hotel's Grill Restaurant serves a tasty selection of favourites, including fish, slow-cooked beef, burgers and pasta. And there's a separate, smaller, plant-based menu too – expect cauliflower wings and portobello mushroom burgers.

An average main from the à la carte menu is around £19. Or you can eat from the set menu instead – it's £32 for three courses or two courses for £27.

If you visit the restaurant between 5pm and 6.30pm you can get a complimentary main course from the children's menu per paying adult. The restaurant can also warm up baby food and bottles and provide free crayons and colouring pages.

Aviator bar - Weekdays: 8am - midnight. Weekends: 10am - midnight

The Aviator bar shows Sky and BT Sport on large screens. There's a children's play area next to it, with toys and games.

A glass of wine at the bar is around £7 and a pint of beer is around £4. The bar also services meals like fish & chips, burgers and curries for around £17 each.

There's also an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy table service.
