A budget hotel with bundles of character
No one enjoys having to budget, but if youre looking to keep costs down with a cheap Manchester airport hotel, then head for the Britannia Ashley. The small bar is light and airy with plenty of drinks, and a bar menu of simple hot and cold classics is available throughout the day. As the bar is open to locals and residents alike, its a sociable spot to enjoy before flying off on your holiday. The outdoor seating at the front of the hotel is reminiscent of European cafe culture, as couples chat under parasols and soak up the village hubbub.
Theres something unwholesome about using cliches, but, the old adage dont judge a book by its cover seems apt for the Britannia Ashley hotel. The 70s exterior hides behind it heavy, ornate wooden staircases and vast brass chandeliers, while the soft pink and cream pastoral wallpaper makes for a charming choice of decor. The small scale of this airport hotel makes it feel rather more like a visit to a countryside cottage than a run-of-the-mill airport hotel in the middle of town, and this is precisely where the charm lies. You can explore the local area, enjoy a classic British dinner in the restaurant, and get your head down in a cosy, comfortable room at night. Therell even be an all-you-can-eat Full English breakfast buffet to set you up the following morning. Whats particularly impressive is that the free WiFi is available in the public areas.
Scrimp on the price tag without scrimping on the stay
The Britannia Ashley hotel is found in the busy village of Hale, where youll find a wealth of boutique stores, stylish restaurants and trendy bars. Its an affluent area, home to footballers and soap-stars alike, so although you might not be splashing the cash, you could find yourself rubbing shoulders with the rich and the famous!
Its an incredibly cheap hotel thats comfortable and charming as well. A hotel of simple pleasures, in fact. Everything you need for a good nights sleep is there, but if you want to supplement your stay, theres heaps of activity on your doorstep! The small scale of the hotel means that youll enjoy a far more personal experience here, and the friendly staff will do their best to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
We recommend the Manchester Britannia Ashley for:
Going easy on the purse strings - The Britannia Ashley hotel Manchester is very reasonably priced, so youll be able to splash out that little bit more on your holiday.
Enjoying the locality - Whether you want to try out some of the local eateries, get your hair fixed in a salon, or enjoy a little retail therapy, you simply need walk around the corner. A trip to the local sporting grounds, like Old Trafford and Manchester City Football Club, are both less than half an hours drive away. Manchester city centres just seven miles off too. Even if you don't want to venture out, the locals will come to you and join you for a drink in the bar.
Children and pets welcome, the latter at an additional charge - Kids under 12 go free when sharing with adults and using existing bedding. Pets, on the other hand, will set you back a tenner each. Its pretty rare that youll find a hotel that allows animals, but for the pet lover among you, the Britannia Ashley positively welcomes them, so you can keep your feathered and fluffy, or scaly and slithery friend(s) nearby.
Easy on the expenses: budget-conscious bedrooms are basic, but comfortable. And wifi's included in public areas.
