iQFOiL World Championships 2026

Six days of racing. Two sailors we're proud to support.

The iQFOiL World Championships bring the world’s best windsurfers together to race for the world titles. This year, the action takes place in Weymouth from 7 to 12 September. iQFOiL is the Olympic windsurfing discipline: a hydrofoil beneath the board lifts it above the water, making for fast, exciting racing.

Holiday Extras is proud to sponsor British Olympians Emma Wilson and Sam Sills as they compete on home waters and work towards Los Angeles 2028. We’re following both athletes throughout the championships, sharing their results, daily highlights and video updates right here.

The championship at a glance

After Day 2: Emma is fourth overall after two second-place finishes. Sam has climbed 12 places to 23rd.

Day 2, Tuesday 8th September 2026

Emma moves into fourth as Sam climbs 12 places

Emma and Sam both moved up the standings on a windy second day in Weymouth.

Emma finished second in two of her four races, moving up one place to fourth overall. That keeps her among the leading sailors after two days of competition.

Sam gained 12 places to reach 23rd overall. A fourth and an eighth were the highlights of his four races as he built on his recovery from a difficult opening day.

Racing continues on Wednesday 9 September, when the competitors split into Gold and Silver fleets based on their results so far.

Day 1, Monday 7th September 2026

A winning start for Emma and a strong recovery from Sam

The championships opened in Weymouth with a race win for Emma and a promising recovery from Sam, as both began six days of racing on home waters.

Emma won one of her short sprint heats and ended the day fifth overall, putting her among the early front-runners.

Sam was disqualified from his opening race for an early start, but responded with seventh, sixth and third in his next three heats. He finished the day 35th overall, with plenty of racing still ahead.
