Palma Weather

Palma is one of Mallorca's most popular holiday destinations, famed for its fantastic beaches and clear waters, as well as numerous cultural and historical attractions. At Holiday Extras we provide airport transfers to allow you to get to where you need to be, whatever the time of year.

Here is our guide to the weather in Palma to help you decide when the best time to travel is for you.

Peak season

Positioned on the Mediterranean coast, Palma's climate is predictably warm most of the year. July and August are the hottest months, when temperatures can soar to as high as 38°C, although the average is around 30°C. You'll no doubt want to cool off in the Med at this time, when the average sea temperature is still some 25°C. You can also take part in the variety of water sports on offer, such as snorkelling, kayaking or jet-skiing.

June and September are also great times to visit if you're after some poolside tanning, with highs of up to 35°C. With beaches slightly less busy than in July or August, the chances of finding a good spot to place your beach towel will be higher. On average, temperatures are around 27°C, which means you can still appreciate visits to the ancient Cathedral and strolls around the Old Town without suffering in the heat.

Off-peak season

While you may need to bring some long-sleeved clothing for mornings and nights, May and October can still be more than pleasant weather-wise, with average temperatures of 22 or 23°C, and highs reaching up into the early thirties. This time of year can be a great opportunity to get some cheap deals while still basking in that warm Mediterranean sun. However, you might want to bring a waterproof jacket if you're coming in October, as you're most likely to get rain this month.

Out of season, the winter months from November to April bring in average temperatures of about 8 to 12°C, and occasionally it might hit 0°C around the turn of the year, with some chilly winds. You could even get some snow at this time, but don't count on it! Visitors around this time can make the most of some of Palma's indoor attractions such as its museums, galleries or aquarium.

Whenever you decide to visit Palma, remember to book your Palma airport transfers so you get to your destination with minimum effort.
