You might be looking for an airport hotel right next to the terminal. Look no further than the Hotel Novotel at Birmingham Airport, Birmingham. There's no need for hours of driving to the airport and early morning transfers, the hotel couldn't be any closer to take-off. This is the closest hotel to the terminal out of our Birmingham airport hotels. So, why not make the most of your stay and enjoy a meal in the Elements restaurant?

The Novotel Birmingham is a firm favourite for families. There's a range of baby facilities, a children's play area and video games on hand for the teens; leaving you to enjoy the sauna, steam room and fitness facilities. Every room features a comfortable setting, with a plush bed, a flatscreen tv and complimentary wifi, there's every reason to indulge in some entertainment.

What's on the menu?

The Elements restaurant is certainly unique. Food is served between 12pm - 12am daily in a buffet style with a range of international cuisine on the menu, meaning you can eat what you want, when you want! They also offer a buffet style breakfast from 6am-10am during weekdays and 7am-11am at weekends so you can enjoy a longer stretch in bed.

Really family friendly with games, wifi, gym access, kids' menu, delicious food, and very comfortable beds.

Getting to the airport

The Novotel is right outside the airport, just a minute away from the terminal.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 12 noon.

If you're travelling by train, the nearest station is Birmingham International. From there, just hop on the free monorail to the airport and walk to the hotel.


The hotel doesn't have its own car park. The cheapest parking close by is Birmingham Airport Carpark 5 which is £35 for 24 hours.

If you do need parking, we'd recommend Airparks Drop & Go, which includes a free shuttle to the terminal and some great facilities like free wifi.


When we visited in summer 2018 we found that the rooms were stylishly decorated, with some interesting artwork, and nifty features like adjustable TV brackets and moveable desks.

At the restaurant

Dinner is served from 5pm to 10pm daily.

The restaurant is an ideal spot for casual dining, set away from the main lobby and bar area which can get quite busy.

Make the most of an excellent selection of dishes with an international theme, with a fantastic selection for vegetarians too â€' we particularly liked the goats cheese and beetroot ravioli when we visited in summer 2018.

There's also a set menu, separate from the standard menu, which offers seasonal dishes and a choice of one, two or three courses at a set price.

For kids

There's a special children's menu with balanced meals. You can request a colouring book and crayons for the little ones too.

At the bar

Open 24 hours daily.

The bar is super trendy, with some eye-catching aviation-themed decor and big TV screens. You can watch news during the day and sports if they're on during the evening.

Enjoy a selection of drinks, including beers, wines and a choice of gins, plus take your pick from the cocktail menu. You can even order special cocktails for the kids if you visit during the school holidays.

There's also has plug sockets and nifty wireless charge points â€' it's great for working or streaming while enjoying the atmosphere.

Pizza to go

The bar has a tempting pizza counter which makes them fresh to order, using a delicious dough imported from Italy. We tried it, and loved it. Plus you can get it to take away, to enjoy in your room or on the road.


Served from 5am - 10am on weekdays and from 5am - 11am at weekends.

Breakfast is an English and continental buffet, served in the restaurant. It's £16.45pp for a full English and £12.45pp for continental.

Up to 2 children under 16 per room eat free for breakfast.

Things to do

There's a gym which is free for all guests to use.

There's a small play area with touch screen games and an oversized chess set.

Good to know

Pets are allowed for £10 per day.

Children receive a toy when they check in if you visit during the summer holidays.

Late check-out is available on Sundays up to 5pm, subject to availability.

Novotel with parking at Airparks Self Park

On the day of your stay

Drive to Airparks first - directions and a postcode for satnavs will be on your confirmation. When you arrive, drive into the car photo booth. A member of the team will check you in while you stay in your car and then direct you to the relevant parking zone. You'll be given a ticket which you need to keep safe. Keep hold of your car keys and make a note of where you've parked for when you get back.

The included shuttle bus runs to the terminal every 25 minutes, 24 hours a day. It takes around 14 minutes. The hotel is across the road from the terminal.

On the day of your flight

When you're ready to leave, just take the 2-minute stroll to the terminal.

Coming home

When you're back, collect your luggage and take the bus back to Airparks to collect your car.

Novotel with parking at Airparks

On the day of your stay:

Drive straight to Airparks to drop off your car, you'll find directions to the car park on your confirmation email.

Park in one of the arrivals bays and head inside with your booking confirmation. You'll need to drop off your car keys at reception as they will park your car for you.

Next, get the shuttle bus to the airport where the hotel is - the bus runs every 25 minutes and takes about 14 minutes to reach the terminal outside rush hour.

Walk to the hotel and check in.

Coming home:

When you're back from your holiday, hop on Airparks' transfer bus back to the car park. Your car will be ready and waiting for you.

Novotel with Maple Parking Meet & Greet

On the day of your stay

Let Maple Parking know when you're about 20 minutes away from the airport. When you reach the terminal head for the car park signposted ‘Valet Parking' outside departures.

Take a ticket from the barrier and turn right to park in a space by the railings. Your driver will be carrying ID and waiting to meet you there. Simply hand over your keys and your car will be parked for you while you head into the terminal.

Walk to the hotel for your overnight stay.

On the day of your flight

Walk to the terminal from the hotel, it will take about 2 minutes.

Coming home

After you've collected your luggage head back to the Valet Parking car park and meet the driver there. They'll give you a ticket allowing you to exit the car park without paying, and then you're on your way home.
