Restaurant and bar
ibis styles Restaurant and Bar – 24 hours a day
The large, open-plan restaurant and bar is open all day and has plenty of colourful quirks, from the polka dot patterned carpet and graffiti-style art to the exposed brick and industrial wallpaper. It's a real mismatch of styles that makes for a fun, modern space for a drink and a bite to eat, whether you're having a sit-down meal, perched at a high table or sinking into comfy sofas.
The main menu's served until 9pm and is super varied, with everything from burgers and pizza to sandwiches, pasta, salads and curries. We went for the wonderfully fragrant Chicken Tikka Masala, which you can order whenever you like – there are plenty of meals available 24 hours a day.
Mains cost £11 to £15 on average, and there's a separate menu for kids – under 12s eat free with a paying adult. You'll also find plenty for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets – let the hotel team know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
The bar's pouring draught beers, wine, spirits, soft drinks and Lavazza coffee all day long, so you'll always have a relaxing space to unwind with a drink. There's a TV in the lounge, plus a play area to keep the kids entertained.
Breakfast
ibis styles Restaurant – continental 4am to 10am, full English 6.30am to 10am
Get your day off to the perfect start with full English and continental delights from the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant. Fill up your plate with as much bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, toast and beans as will fit, then fill a second plate with pain au chocolat and croissants. You might even need a third plate for the cold meat and cheese, plus a bowl or two for cereal, fruit and yoghurt.
Wash all that down with tea, Lavazza coffee and fresh juices – it's all included for £11.50 per person. And kids under 12 eat free with a paying adult!
Things to do
There's a compact gym with plenty of equipment that's free for guests to use. Work up a sweat with the Pulse Fitness treadmill, crosstrainer, bikes, cables, free weights and Concept2 rowing machine. It's open 6am to 10pm on weekdays and 8am to 8pm on weekends – ask reception for the code to access the gym.
Head through the restaurant and you'll find a foosball table, plus there are games for kids in the lounge area of the bar.
The hotel's in walking distance of the NEC, which has plenty of bars and restaurants and regularly hosts events – check the schedule and see what's on during your stay.
