Larger or commercial vehicle? The car park has changed its terms and conditions meaning that some larger vehicles are no longer accepted. If your vehicle is one they won't accept you won't be able to park there. Please read below for full details and check whether the car park will take your vehicle before you book.

Covid-secure

The Purple Parking team has introduced a whole host of measures designed to make your journey as safe and contact-free as possible.

When you arrive you'll need to make sure you're wearing a face covering and keep it on while you're at the car park and on the bus. The buses won't be running as regularly as usual, so we recommend allowing plenty of extra time to get to and from the airport. There are signs to encourage social distancing and perspex screens at the check-in desk.

There's hand sanitiser for you to use and everything at the car park is cleaned regularly. When you get back to your car the steering wheel, gear stick, drivers door handles (inside and out) and car key will have been sanitised. They'll also give you wipes to use.

Need to know

Drive to Purple Parking - we'll give you directions in your booking confirmation.

When you arrive you'll be directed where to park. Make a note of the lane number and check your car in at reception - you'll need to hand over your car keys and have your booking confirmation handy.

You'll be given a ticket, which you'll need to show the bus driver. It will also have instructions on the back for when you return.

Hop on the car park's shuttle bus to the airport. It takes 10 minutes to reach the North and South terminals and buses run every 20 minutes.

Accessibility

When you arrive let reception know immediately that you have a mobility vehicle.

The car park has accessible shuttle buses and parking bays. If you need to park in one of these bays make sure you let reception know so they can ensure your car is returned there when you get back.

Facilities

The reception area has disabled toilets, standard ones and baby changing facilities.

Security

The car park is secured by:

• Perimeter fencing
• Floodlighting
• Regular staff patrols
• CCTV

The small print

Early or late? The car park offers a grace period until midnight at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £10, which is subject to change.

Purple Parking Park and Ride has a height restriction of 2.1m and cannot accept:

• Commercial vehicles or minibuses of any kind.
• Medium panelled or windowed vans such as a VW Transporter, VW Caddy, Ford Transit or short wheel based vehicles of any description.
• Large panelled or windowed vans such as a Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, Renault Master, Ford Transit or long wheel based vehicles of any description.

We recommend that you allow 45 minutes to drop your car and keys off and get the shuttle to the airport.

Your car may be stored at the Purple Parking overflow car park while you're away.

Electric vehicle charging is not available at Purple Parking.

Getting to and from airport

Arriving at the car park

Park in one of the arrivals bays, take note of the lane number and head to reception to check in. Show a copy of your booking confirmation and drop your keys in the red box.

You'll be given a ticket - show this to the bus driver. It will also have instructions on the back for when you return.

Catch the car park's shuttle bus to the airport. It takes 10 minutes to reach the North and South terminals and buses run every 20 minutes.

Returning to the car park

When you return catch the bus from where it dropped you off. Your car will be waiting in one of the collection bays, so all you need to do is pick up your keys from reception and make your way home.
