Q: Which Tenerife beach should I visit with the family?
A: Playa de las Vistas
Los Cristianos and Las Americas are two of the island's most popular resorts and right in the middle is a beach so beautiful it should be on a postcard. With long swathes of golden sand, clear blue waters and a wide promenade, we think it's everything you could imagine from that perfect beach holiday.
Tucked away from Tenerife's major party hubs, Playa de las Vistas offers a safe, relaxing environment to build sandcastles and dip your toes in the sea with the kids. What's more, the beach doubles up as a romantic getaway, perfect for sandy evening strolls and sharing a bottle of Rioja.
Q: Which Tenerife beach is best for parties?
A: Playa de las Américas
Neon lights, a vibrant atmosphere, and bars that stretch onto the beach itself, Playa de las Américas is the place to be to soak up that famous Tenerife joie de vivre.
Offering pristine sand to lounge on during the day and plenty of clubs in the evening, you can rest assured you'll never be bored in Playa de las Américas. And of course, no visit to Tenerife is complete without wetting one's whistle in one of the beach's renowned cocktail bars and dancing as the sun goes down. We went to Crystals Palace and Club Tramps and think both should be the close to the top of anyone's to-do list.
Q: Which Tenerife beach is best for relaxing?
A: Los Cristianos
Sometimes, nothing will do except lazing on the beach, reading a good book or simply topping up the tan. Fortunately, Los Cristianos has you covered.
What was once a sleepy fishing town is now a popular resort for family travellers, with a beach that provides a beautiful sheltered bay that is perfect for those looking for calm waters and relaxation.
If you can face moving from your sun lounger (easier said than done), then Los Cristianos also has a wide of quality bars and watersports to enjoy, if you were so inclined. We tried scuba diving with Giedre & Enrique Diving on a hunt to spot some sea turtles, and although our dive proved turtle-less, we still had a blast swimming with the tropical fish in the calm waters.
Q: Which Tenerife beach has the best views?
A: Los Gigantes
It may not be the most famous beach on Tenerife, but if you're looking for the most spectacular views and best selfie spots on the island, Los Gigantes is certainly not to be missed. Backed by magnificent cliff-faces soaring to peaks of up to 800 metres, coupled with mesmerising volcanic black sand, there's nowhere quite like this unique slice of Tenerife.
The imposing cliff-faces aren't just for show either. They protect the beach (and adjoining town) from prevailing winds, ensuring that Los Gigantes enjoys what could be the best climate on the whole of Tenerife.
At the bottom of these cliffs is a crystal blue sea, where amongst the usual water sports activities (paddle boarding, snorkelling and the like), you can spot dolphins! Although you see these slippery fellows from the beach, we took a guided boat tour with Flipper Uno to help us tell apart the fins from the seaweed.
Book your holiday extras early
It pays to book your airport parking, airport hotel or your lounge as soon as you book your flights. Prices usually go up nearer the date you fly, and last year Holiday Extras saved our airport parking customers £59 each on average when they pre-booked their airport parking instead of paying on the day.

A: Playa de las Teresitas
Here at Holiday Extras, we're always on the hunt for exclusive tips to help you travel better, and on our last trip we strayed from the path to discover the hidden gem of Playa de las Teresitas. We think this criminally underrated beach on Tenerife's northern coast is one of the island's most beautiful and unspoilt attractions; travellers in the know can enjoy this paradise without crowds of tourists packing every inch of sand. What could be better?
Soaring mountain peaks, sandy shores, and picture-perfect palm trees are the hallmarks of this stunning region. The north of Tenerife truly offers something different from the rest of the island, with lush vegetation and a tranquil pace of life the perfect retreat from the tourist-heavy regions of the south.
