How does it work?
Once you've made your booking, we email you a booking confirmation. This will contain your unique reference number, details of your car hire provider and where to find the car hire desk when you arrive at your destination. If you're collecting your rental car from Oslo Airport (OSL), then your confirmation will state whether the where the relevant car hire desk is located.
A word about insurance
All our Norway car hire agreements include a collision damage waiver. This means that, in the event of theft or damage, you won't be charged any more than your excess.
Our mission at Holiday Extras is to make things as hassle-free as possible so you can get on what matters: enjoying your holiday. Our total protection insurance for your Norway car hire will give you that extra peace of mind, that, should the worst happen, then you'll be covered. We regularly compare and price-check all our policies to ensure we bring you, not just top rate cover, but the best value for money too. All our policies include the following:
- Damage and theft excess
- Damage protection for all mechanical and exterior of the car
- Cover for any immobilisation, admin and towing charges
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before travel
On arrival - collecting your Norway rental car
When you arrive to collect your rental car in Norway - either from Oslo Airport (OSL) or from another pick up location, you will need to make your way to the car hire provider's desk or office. Here, a member of the team will check through the paperwork for the car rental agreement with you. There will be a few forms to fill out ahead of being given the keys to the rental car. The car hire representative will also remind you of the fuel policy for the car and how much it should be returned with, as well as whether there is any mileage limit on the hire agreement.
You must ensure you have the following with you when you pick up your hire car:
- Printed email confirmation for each of your journeys
- A full driving licence
- Credit card in the lead driver's name, with the full deposit amount available
- A valid DVLA code
- A valid passport
What happens on your return?
Details of where you need to drop your rental car off to will be included on your booking confirmation. When you return the car, a member of the rental team will check it over before you head off.

Out and About in Norway
One of the best drives in Norway is the coastal E18 Highway in either direction. To the south east, the road takes you through the borough of Nordstrand. Park up and look across the waters to wild islands like Hovedoya and Bleikoya. To the west, drive around the Bydoy peninsula and the exclusive borough of Frogner, where you'll find some of Oslo's best retail destinations. Rather than wasting time organising transport on arrival, Holiday Extras car rental service means you can hit the road as soon as you land and start to explore all that this amazing country has to offer.
Other Holiday Extras
Don't forget - we offer so much more than car hire! If you're looking for transport to your resort, then we can offer fabulous discounts on resort transfers. The deals don't stop there, as we also offer great value holiday insurance, giving you further peace of mind for your holiday.Top
