from the airport
customer rating
The Best Western Heathrow Ariel Hotel, previously the Holiday Inn Ariel, is located less than a 10 minute drive from the airport, making it an ultra convenient choice. This welcoming, 3-star Heathrow hotel has a contemporary bar and restaurant, and the bedrooms are bright and comfortable, equipped with everything you need for a good night's sleep. Avid planespotters should request a south-facing room when they make their booking – they overlook the airstrip and offer a grandstand view of the takeoffs!
We recommend the Best Western Ariel for:
Peace and Quiet - Despite being so close to the airport, the Ariel is well soundproofed and we enjoyed a quiet night's sleep.
An elegant stay - Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we loved the lightwell at the centre of the unusual ring-shaped building that lets in natural light at all times of day.
A quick ride to the airport - A bus or taxi takes only 10 minutes to terminals 1 and 3.
Budget-friendly hotel with relaxed dining and comfortable rooms. Request a room with runway view.
Getting to the airport
The Best Western Ariel is on the Bath Road. Detailed driving instructions and a postcode for satnavs will be on your booking confirmation.
The Heathrow Hoppa shuttle bus runs regularly during the airport's opening hours. Depending on the terminal you're flying from, you may need to catch the Hoppa and then the free Heathrow Express. Hoppa tickets cost £6 per person one way and £11 per person return. Up to two children under 15 can travel free with a paying adult.
Check in from 2pm, check out by 12 noon.
Parking
Onsite parking at the hotel is included in the price of this package. You will be able to keep hold of your keys while you're away.

The large menu at Junction Restaurant includes 'home-style favourites', like bangers and mash and fish and chips, build-your-own burgers (a particular favourite with our guests), pastas, pizzas, steaks and salads. Some meals are available 24 hours.
Dishes are freshly prepared and meats from the grill are cooked to your liking. Expect to pay £13-£14 on average for a main meal.
This restaurant caters for vegetarian, vegan, lactose free and gluten free diets. If you have any dietary requests, speak to the restaurant team.

Bars
The bar serves beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks as well as Starbucks coffee. Guests say that the staff are friendly and polite. A pint of Stella cost £4.50 (December 2016 prices).
Food is served from the bar, too, offering the same menu as the restaurant. See above for more info.

Breakfast
It's a full English and continental buffet. It's £15.95 on the day or £12.95 if you book it at reception the night before. Omelettes can be cooked to order by a dedicated omelette chef - just ask for the ingredients you'd like. Our guests particularly like the pancake machine.
The hotel will also create a breakfast to go - request it the night before at reception. It includes a yoghurt, a piece of fruit, a pastry and a sandwich.
Breakfast: £15.95 on the day
Served: 6am - 9.30am every day.
