The website stated that there was a decent restaurant and a bar at the hotel. After a gruelling day trying to get away from Stansted airport, we needed to settle down and chill for the evening. There was NO restaurant and the bar amounted to a small counter from which the receptionist would sell a few bottles of lager or a glass or bottle of wine. That was it! We, therefore, had to drive to the next village to get a meal at a pub. The room was comfortable enough - after we'd opened the windows to air the place a bit.

Arrived at hotel to find no food or drink was available and wasn't informed of this on booking. We had to get a taxi to nearest town which cost £25 each way for a 2 mile trip!!

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that food wasn’t available and the restaurant wasn’t open as they were refurbishing. We had no idea about this and were expecting to eat at the hotel and also order breakfast. We had to take the car out again and search for food. The hotel bedroom was fine but the hotel and grounds were very down trodden. We have already e-mailed holiday extra but have not had a reply.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the receptionists were polite and helpful. However the bar/restaurant was closed for refurbishment making it necessary to visit Bishops Stortford or the nearby service station for refreshments/food.

Hotel good. Staff said getting a taxi to airport would be difficult. They managed to get one. On return hotel didn’t answer phone so we couldn’t get them to book a taxi to get our car. Had to book taxi at airport and that cost £31. Not happy at all with service from this hotel. Wouldn’t stay again.

It was awful - I ended up having to book other parking due to the hotel’s incompetence and I have complained to you and you haven’t responded yet.

Frankly you were hopeless. You bombarded me with emails before I left and when I arrived at the hotel they had no record of my booking. Given that this was the only matter you had to organise it was 0 out of 10.

When I booked close to airport I didn't have end of runway in mind, no food facilities on site the whole place felt abandoned
