What's the best time of year to visit Costa Adeje?

Costa Adeje, on the south-western coast of Tenerife, is a sunny holiday destination that is good to visit at any time – but when, exactly, is best?

When you book your accommodation and flights, be sure to take advantage of ourairport transfers– it's one less thing to think about when you arrive, as you won't have the stress of long queues or paying for a taxi in an unfamiliar currency to contend with.

Optimum warmth

If you're visiting Costa Adeje with the intention of enjoying maximum sunshine, the months of July, August and September are your best bet. Temperatures typically reach about 28°C and rarely ever drop below 17°C. During this period, rainfall is at its lowest, too, equalling an average of one day of rain for every 30.

A popular time of the year

One of the main drawbacks of holidaying during the summer months is that the majority of Tenerife's visitors are doing the same thing. If you don't mind the possibility a bit of overcrowding on occasion, then this needn't cause any concern.

Cost implications

The other thing to consider about travelling at this time of year (June to July) is that it constitutes the peak holiday season. This often means that the cost of flights and/or accommodation is typically at a premium. Bear in mind, too, that December and January vacations to Tenerife tend to be booked up in advance, not least because so many people crave winter sunshine.

What are the alternatives?

As mentioned at the top of this article, Tenerife is really quite lovely all year round. If you want to make the most of fewer crowds and cheaper prices and still enjoy very decent weather, visit between March and May or September and November. The former offers average high temperatures of 22°C. During the latter months, you can expect a typical temperature peak of about 26°C.

Always open?

There are exceptions, of course, but the majority of attractions on the island are open throughout the year, the hugely popular Siam Park, for example. Of course, many of the region's must-see sights are natural – Parque Nacional del Teide, for instance. This means that you can visit Costa Adeje pretty much whenever you want, without fear of missing out on its ample delights.
