NatWest Travel Money

NatWest is one of the UK's 'big four banks' and has been a giant in the financial services world since it was established in 1968. It became part of the RBS group in 2000 and offers a range of financial services and products to people across the country.

You can purchase travel money at any NatWest branch or online between the amounts of £100 and £2,500. Its available as cash or as a cheque, which can be cashed on your travels, in lots of the world's most common currencies.

Where can I get NatWest travel money?

You can purchase NatWest Travel Money both online and in branch. If you need euros or US dollars, you can buy them in pre-packed amounts of €100, €150 or €500 and $200 or $750 from any of NatWest's 960 UK branches. Those needing different currencies can order online, either for home delivery or collection at your local branch.

You can collect your money the next working day for free in branch, provided you order before 2pm. Next day delivery to your home is free for all orders over £500, or £5 for orders under. However, your travel money can only be delivered to the billing address of the card you pay with and needs to be signed for. If your order is urgent, you can organise collection at your local branch after 3:30pm for a small fee.

Can I get a travel money card at NatWest?

NatWest don't offer a prepaid travel card at the moment and doesn't appear to have plans to introduce one. If you'd prefer not to carry cash abroad, you can use debit cards linked to the following NatWest accounts for purchases abroad without fees.

  • Black current account.
  • Reward Silver.
  • Reward Platinum.
  • Reward Black.

If you don't have one of these accounts, you will be charged a fee for transactions or withdrawals made outside the UK. This fee will be a percentage of the amount in sterling.

Do I get better travel money rates if I have a NatWest bank account?

Yes, but only if you have one of the current accounts listed above. If you do, make sure you sign into membership services online before ordering your travel money to access the best rates. NatWest also does not charge a fee for travel money services, but if you choose to purchase your currency online using a card from a different provider you might be charged.
