Price Promise – Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility Criteria
1.1. The Holiday Extras Price Promise applies only to travel insurance policies purchased or renewed directly through Holiday Extras.
1.2. New policies purchased via the Holiday Extras Call Centre or through third-party partners are not eligible.
1.3. Renewal policies are eligible where the policy is renewed directly through Holiday Extras, including renewals completed online, by automatic renewal, or via the Holiday Extras Call Centre. Renewal policies may also be eligible where the original policy was purchased via the Holiday Extras Call Centre or through a third-party partner.
1.4.The competitor policy being compared must offer the same level of cover, on a like-for-like product, as the Holiday Extras policy purchased or renewed, meeting at least the minimum criteria shown in your Holiday Extras policy schedule for the equivalent cover level. Comparisons must be made between the same policy types - for example, a single trip policy cannot be compared with an annual policy.
1.5 The price promise will refund the policy price difference between a Holiday Extras policy and the competitor’s policy price, up to the maximum limits defined under section 4.
2. Exclusions
2.1. Competitor policies must be available to the general public online. If you purchased or renewed your policy directly through Holiday Extras, it must be compared against an equivalent policy available directly from another provider's website. If you purchased or renewed your policy through a comparison website, it may be compared against an equivalent policy available either through a comparison website or directly from a provider, provided all other like-for-like cover requirements are met.
2.2. Comparisons that rely on cashback offers, voucher/coupon codes, or other third-party promotional discounts will not be accepted. You do not need to purchase the competitor’s policy - a valid online quote that meets the criteria below will be sufficient for comparison.
2.3. Comparisons from competitors cannot include prices obtained through loyalty schemes, corporate discounts, student rates, closed user groups, or any unpublished offers not available to the general public. They also cannot take into account any additional value provided through additional extras coupled with the policy.
2.4. Comparisons based on quotes containing errors, or where the competitor’s quote cannot be reasonably verified as available at the time of the claim, will not be accepted.
3. Minimum Cover Level Criteria
When submitting a Price Promise request, the competitor's policy must provide cover that is equivalent to or greater than the key cover limits shown in your Holiday Extras policy schedule. This includes, where applicable, Emergency Medical and Repatriation Expenses, Cancellation Cover, Personal Possessions (Baggage), Gadget Cover and Excess levels.
Where a gadget cover add-on is available from the competitor but is not included as standard, the total policy price including the gadget cover add-on will be used when assessing whether the competitor policy is a valid comparison.
Holiday Extras reserves the right to review all cover limits and policy features to determine whether a competitor policy is a like-for-like comparison.
4. Price Promise Conditions
4.1. The Price Promise applies only to the total price of the travel insurance policy, including any required medical screening costs, but excluding optional upgrades or add-ons (eg. winter sports, excess waiver) unless included as standard in the competitor’s price.
4.2. The maximum refund available under the Price Promise is £100. Refunds will be made to the original payment card used to purchase or renew the policy, where possible.
4.3. Only one Price Promise claim may be made per policy purchased or renewed.
4.4. For any policies cancelled after a Price Promise claim has been successful, the total refund of your policy premium will be made. Eg if your policy is £100 and the Price Promise claim was for £20, your total cancellation refund will be for £80.
5. Time Limits and Submission Requirements
5.1. You must submit your Price Promise request within 24 hours of purchasing or renewing your Holiday Extras travel insurance policy.
5.2. For automatically renewed policies, the 24-hour period begins from the date and time the renewal payment is processed, not from the policy start date. Automatically renewed policies are usually processed 4 days before the policy start date.
5.3. You must submit your Price Promise claim through this Price Promise Claim
5.4. Holiday Extras will manually verify the competitor price within a maximum of 48 working hours. If the competitor’s price has changed since the time of purchase, the lower price available during verification will be used for comparison. We will inform you of the outcome by email. If the outcome of your Price Promise claim is successful, we will process your refund within 5 working days.
5.5. Holiday Extras will manually verify the competitor price within a maximum of 48 working hours. 5.6. Proof of the competitor’s quote (including date, time, and full cover details) must be provided when submitting your Price Promise claim.
6. Administration and Changes
6.1. Holiday Extras reserves the right to verify the competitor quote and confirm eligibility before approving a refund.
6.2. Holiday Extras reserves the right to withdraw or amend this offer at any time and without notice. Any valid Price Promise claim submitted before any withdrawal or amendment will continue to be processed in line with the terms in effect at the time of submission.
6.3. Holiday Extras’ decision regarding any Price Promise claim is final.
7. General
7.1. By submitting a Price Promise claim, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
7.2. The Price Promise is non-transferable and may only be claimed by the policyholder.
7.3. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
7.4. This Price Promise promotion does not affect the customer's statutory rights as defined within their policy documents.
7.5 This Promotion will end on the 31st December 2026.
Any personal data provided as part of your Price Promise claim will be processed in accordance with the Holiday Extras Privacy Policy.
