Top Tenerife excursions

Whether you love stretching out on a tranquil beach, diving deep in search of sea life or getting an adrenaline rush on the latest theme park ride, there's something for you in Tenerife. Let's imagine you've touched down on the island, relaxed aboard your shuttle bus with one of our low cost airport transfers and arrived at your accommodation. What next? Well, here are our recommendations for the best ways to make the most of your holiday:

Book onto a tour

Even if you've already been to Tenerife in the past, taking part in a coach or walking tour is a great way to discover more about the island. Young and old travellers alike are sure to be fascinated by the cultural and historical significance of the buildings and spaces around them. And, if you're new to Tenerife, a tour is a great way to get an idea of the sorts of things you'd like to do during the rest of your holiday, as well as find out where important shops or sites are.

Go hiking

Those with a sense of adventure can take advantage of Teide National Park, which sits in the middle of the island. Walkers can take in the scenery, which comprises craters, volcanoes and petrified lava and even hike up to the top of Teide Volcano. If donning walking boots is a step too far for you, you could book a cable car ride to take in panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage site instead.

Visit a theme park

Tenerife boasts a number of theme and water parks. One of the best is Siam Park, a Thai-themed water park that features the Tower of Power slide, which has an almost vertical 90-foot drop. This park also has an enclosed beach and sea lion island, so there is something for everyone to enjoy – even those who dislike theme park rides.

Go whale watching

This is a bucket list item for many people, and the good news is you can tick it off in Tenerife. Take a boat trip from Los Gigantes or Los Cristianos on the west coast of the island and keep your eyes peeled! The waters between Tenerife and La Gomera are home to a wide variety of aquatic life, and holidaymakers have a good chance of spotting whales and dolphins from the boat – so remember to bring your binoculars!

Before you travel, be sure to book your Tenerife airport transfers to get you to your resort in comfort and get your holiday off to a great start.
