La Reserva Puig de Galatzó

Near the western tip of Majorca, this nature reserve has lots to do for a day trip. Enjoy your surroundings – forests resplendent with evergreen oaks, tumbling waterfalls to cool off in and a host of birds to spot during your hike including eagles, vultures and hawks. You can also try the adventure activities: there are ziplines, Tibetan bridges and rock climbing for all ages.

Aqualand

A perfect Majorca excursion for families, Aqualand El Arenal is near the south-west coast, just over 20 minutes from Palma. Here, there are rides for thrill seekers, including adrenaline-pumping high-drop slides and twisting flumes, as well as gentler slides and a surf pool. There's also a Jacuzzi for when you just fancy relaxing for a while.

Cuevas del Drach

The Caves of Drach are in Porto Cristo, and are one of the best-known caves in Europe. Tour guides can pick you up in a number of towns and villages across Majorca and take you to the site, which dips underground up to 25 meters. You take a boat trip through the underground lakes to see rock formations lit up by sparkling lights, and some excursions end with a classical performance.

Marineland

Less than a 20-minute drive from Palma, Marineland is a sea life amusement park. Spend a day there at the dolphin shows – there are seven dolphins whose performances will teach you more about the creatures' intelligence. There are also seals and sea lions to look out for, fresh water, sea water and Mediterranean aquariums, and an aviary with flamingos and penguins too.

Palma

An excursion to Palma is a must for a holiday in Majorca. The island's capital has history and culture to explore, as well as a renowned dining scene and buzzing nightlife. Some companies offer walking tours of the city, others do gastro trips and some do boat cruises from Palma's beaches.
