Cala d'Or beach

The last bay in the line-up of beaches that make up Cala d'Or's coastline, Cala d'Or beach is nearest to the marina and is a little sheltered from the open sea, giving it a feeling of privacy. However, at about 40 metres long, there's not far to go to reach the sea and the waters are gentle so it's safe for paddling. There are sunbeds and parasols to hire, and a cosy bar just to the back of the beach.

Cala Gran beach

The biggest of the Cala d'Or beaches, Cala Gran is one of the most popular and can get a little busy in summer months. The sand is fine and soft, and the beach is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and bars. Tour boats pass by regularly and there are pedal boats if you fancy getting out on the water.

Cala Serena beach

A small bay surrounded by rocky outcrops and trees, Cala Serena beach is perfect when you're looking for a secluded place to sunbathe. There are no caf´s or bars surrounding it, so the atmosphere is peaceful, and some diving tours use the area as a pickup or drop off point, so you could get chatting to a diver and discover a new hobby.

Cala Ferrera beach

Another busy beach, Cala Ferrera is next to streets packed with hotels and restaurants, so it's a popular tourist spot. You can go out on a pedalo from the shore, or snorkel in the calm, turquoise waters, hemmed in by the surrounding rocks.

Cala Esmeralda beach

As a fairly central beach, Cala Esmeralda is nonetheless small and quite quiet. It's a great suntrap and, with its fine sands and tranquil tides, is the perfect place to sunbathe in peace. The wealth of curious fish in the sea mean it's also a good snorkelling spot.
