Playa de las Américas

A purpose-built holiday resort, Playa de las Américas knows exactly what it's there for. It's more of a party venue, with a 1km stretch called Verónicas that buzzes with clubs, music venues, bars and restaurants. Its golden beach and warm, calm waters are also a huge draw for post-night out relaxing.

Puerto Colón

For an upscale resort, head to Puerto Colón. It's on the southwest coast near Costa Adeje and features an artificial beach and manmade breakwaters surrounding shallow water that's great for kids to paddle in. Also a good spot for watersports, you can try diving, jet skiing and kite surfing here.

Playa de la Arena

With a black sand beach, Playa de la Arena is a small and fairly secluded area to explore. There are hiking trails around, and a promenade with a good selection of restaurants above the rugged coastline. Nightlife is centred around a few bars, so it's the perfect spot for a few drinks before retiring to bed.

Los Gigantes

This is a charming seaside resort and takes its name from the imposing cliffs that dominate the area's background. It's a quieter place to stay and has some of Tenerife's best weather. With volcanic black sand and a nearby marina, the beachfront is a popular place to wander along to explore the natural swimming pools.

Puerto de la Cruz

One of Tenerife's main tourist resorts, Puerto de la Cruz is a traditionally Spanish environment. It has a garden beach, a bustling harbour and welcoming locals. There's also a zoo, a leisure park and the chance to explore Orotava Valley which surrounds the area with fruit plantations.

One you've made up your mind on which resort suits you, don't forget to book one of Holiday Extra's Tenerife airport transfers. We offer a wide range of vehicle options, from shuttle buses, to private cars and minibuses transport you to your accommodation safely and reliably.
