Top Beach Resorts in Cala d'Or

Cala d'Or boasts some of the prettiest beaches in Majorca. Situated on the east coast of the island, the resort attracts holidaymakers in search of golden sands and turquoise waters – it's not called 'Golden Bay' for nothing. Here are our recommendations for the top beaches to relax and unwind on once you've caught your airport transfers and arrived at your accommodation.

An Overview

Cala d'Or is home to five small, sandy beaches: Cala Llonga, Cala Serena, Cala Gran, Cala Esmeralda and Cala Ferrera. These have clear, turquoise waters and are lined with pine trees, making them ideal spots for a restful afternoon. Holidaymakers will find many restaurants, bars and shops in the streets around the beaches, many of which offer quality food and drink, from traditional local cuisine to fast food. Although it doesn't take long to walk between the beaches, there is a mini train that will take you to your preferred destination.

The Longest Beaches

Even though Cala Gran and Cala Llonga are only around 40 metres wide and 100 metres deep, they are the longest beaches in Cala d'Or. If you opt for either, you will be able to hire sun loungers and parasols, but there is also a whole host of family-friendly activities on offer that you can try out during your stay. Holidaymakers can go horse riding, scuba diving or windsurfing, buy a trip on a glass-bottomed boat and even hire a luxury yacht.

Quieter Spots

If you are visiting Cala d'Or during the busy summer months and want to beat the crowds, there are spots where you can sunbathe too. Cala Varques is a quieter sandy beach to the north of Cala d'Or. It is 90 metres in length and accessible after a 15-minute walk from the nearest parking spot. There are also no restaurants or bars here, so bring your own food and drink if you need it.

Mondrago Natural Park is also one to check out if you value seclusion. Its two neighbouring beaches, Cala Mondrago and S'Aramador, are connected by a paved path and offer a few small eateries.

To make sure your getaway is as relaxing as possible, book one of our Cala d'Or airport transfers, which will take you from the airport to your accommodation – and back again – with minimum fuss. We offer a wide range of options - from shared shuttles to private cars and minibuses. We also offer wheelchair-friendly minibuses.
