Top beach resorts in Benidorm

When it comes to holiday destinations, Spain is the first choice of many UK citizens, with Benidorm in particular being a hotspot that Brits cherish most. At Holiday Extras, we strive to make airport transfers as seamless as possible but before you make your trip, you might be wondering about which resorts in this part of the world are worth visiting. Well, the Costa Blanca is really an embarrassment of riches for sun-seeking travellers.

Jávea

Less than 30 miles north of Benidorm lies Jávea, a delightful port town that features a marina, a host of bars and restaurants and miles of soft-sanded beaches. If you're seeking a more sedate alternative to Benidorm, Jávea should fit the bill perfectly. This traditional resort features a number of small coves, too, which are fun places explore. Jávea also happens to be right next door to Montgó Natural Park, a wonderfully verdant area that is perfect for walks while spying all manner of fauna.

Dénia

Montgó Natural Park is situated close to Dénia, too, which lies less than three miles north. This port city is overlooked by an impressive Moorish castle that provides fabulous views all around. Dénia features its coterie of expats, which means that there are one or two restaurants and bars that will meet the needs of Brits abroad. For the most part, though, Dénia is refreshingly Spanish, and its main city beach, Platja de les Marines, tends not to be overrun by holidaymakers. It's soft, yellow sands are ideal for lazing while contemplating a swim. It provides good walking options, too, particularly during vivid sunsets.

Moraira

A little bit closer (roughly 25 miles north of Benidorm) is Moraira. This upmarket resort town is home to eight beaches, a marina, a number of shops and other local amenities and several bars and cafes. Moraira has a fishing-town look and feel that harkens back to simpler times, which is a big part of its appeal.

Benidorm

How could we not talk about the one and only Benidorm, one of the world's most popular holiday destinations for Brits? Benidorm offers sun, sand and sea in abundance, as well as a party ambience that attracts good-natured visitors who like to chat, chill and dance. Whether you're five or 95, Benidorm provides a sun-kissed tonic that very few other places can rival.
