Aqualand

There's nothing better than a water park to cool you off when temperatures rise. Kids will love Aqualand and its rushing rapids, twister flumes and the gently floating Lava River. One of the park's biggest draws is its dolphinarium where bottle-nosed dolphins show off their physical and mental abilities in daily shows.

A busy beach

Tenerife beaches are legendary and there are plenty of family friendly ones around. Visit Playa de Las Vistas which has calm waters and soft sands – perfect for children looking to play. It's also wheelchair and pushchair accessible. Playa de Fañabé in Costa Adeje is similar, beside the clear shallow sea on one side and a bustling promenade on the other. Give the kids a bucket and spade and they'll be occupied for hours.

Forestal Park

Deep in La Esperanza forest you'll find Forestal Park, a haven of high ropes and ziplines. Throughout the course, there are more than 90 activities to try, including climbing walls and rope bridges. Jungle Park

The ideal place for little explorers, Jungle Park is a zoo and botanical park with grounds that stretch out and contain waterfalls, tunnels, nature trails and rope bridges. Families can roam around to see lions, tigers, pumas and a host of exotic birds.

Loro Parque

A wildlife park that's most famous for two things: its orca shows and its parrot collection. Killer whales perform acrobatics to music (careful in the first few rows – you will get splashed!) in shows throughout the day. Meanwhile, the park has over 300 species of parrots to see, alongside penguins, sharks, gorillas and tigers.
