Tips for travelling alone in Alicante

Travelling alone is a special type of experience and Alicante is a great place to begin your adventures. There are activities, restaurants and beaches galore, so you'll be spoilt for choice. As a solo traveller, you don't have to worry about how to get to your destination from the airport. We offer airport transfers that include private cars and shared shuttle buses, so the choice is up to you. Now you just need to read our tips on travelling alone in Alicante, and you'll be ready to get booking.

Relax

If you're travelling alone in Alicante that means there's probably one main thing on your mind: unwinding from everyday life. We recommend you head to one of the area's beaches – there are loads to choose from, but they're all beautiful. San Juan has water sport activities available to try, while less crowded spots include Playa de los Saladares which is in a quiet area, or the small Cabo de las Huerta coves for peaceful paddling.

Mingle

Guided tours are a great way to meet people if you find yourself looking for company. Alicante has loads to choose from: walking tours of historical sites, evening wanders to learn about the area's dark side, foodie-friendly gourmet tours and bike or Segway trips throughout the city or further afield. Meeting people with shared interests is just one highlight of solo travelling.

Or keep to yourself

Alternatively, it's occasionally nice to embrace the solitude. In Alicante, there's so much to do that doesn't need accompaniment. You can take in the city's history at Casa Carbonell and Santa María Basilica, or climb up to the Santa Bárbara Castle and look out over the stunning views of the city and the sea.

Treat yourself

You're on holiday – what better time to spoil yourself? Alicante is famous for its food and wine, so now's the perfect chance to investigate. Look out for restaurants serving paella, indulgent rice dishes and all the seafood you could ever want – from red prawns to eel – and don't forget to ask about wine pairings too. Dessert is also obligatory, and Alicante does ice cream, gelato and Turrón (a local almond nougat) perfectly.

You'll come back from your trip a sated and well-rounded person once you've travelled alone in Alicante. And we'll be there with our Alicante airport transfers to pick you up from your accommodation and get you back to the airport quickly and stress-free.
