Bmi regional to fly Nottingham-Cologne

Bmi regional is to commence services from Nottingham East Midlands airport to Cologne in Germany next year.

Extra flights from Nottingham East Midlands airport (EMA) to the German city of Cologne will be available with bmi regional next year.

The carrier will offer six direct services a week, commencing on February 11th, replacing the flights once offered by easyJet.

Owing to its membership of the Star Alliance, bmi regional will offer its passengers connections at Cologne to other German cities, including Hamburg, via fellow alliance member Lufthansa.

Caroline Plant, EMA marketing director, said: "We are delighted that bmi regional has chosen to start their Cologne route from East Midlands in February.

"This is an important destination for the business traveller in the region and I am sure that it will also be a very popular destination for the leisure traveller alike."

Cologne is one of Germany's oldest cities and hosts annual carnivals as well as Europe's largest comedy festival.
