Austrian carrier wins award

Tyrolean Airways, part of the Austrian Airlines group, has won a European Regions Airline Association award.

Tyrolean Airways, which operates under the Austrian Arrows brand and is part of the Austrian Airlines group, has won the regional airline of the year Silver Award 2007-08.

The accolade is presented annually by the European Regions Airline Association (ERA), the umbrella organisation for European regional carriers.

This is the second time that Tyrolean Airways has taken this particular honour, managing director Manfred Helldoppler said.

"Having won the ERA regional airline of the year 1997-98 awards exactly ten years ago, this is the second award that Tyrolean Airways has received from ERA on the strength of its special achievements," he commented.

"The ERA airline of the year Silver Award is merely further proof of the high status that Austrian Arrows enjoys amongst European regional airlines and confirms the outstanding quality and professionalism that our employees provide."

Alfred Otsch, CEO of Austrian Airlines, said the award emphasises the efficiency, professionalism and innovation with which Tyrolean operates.
