Eurostar Breaks Another Record

Eurostar has set another record by travelling from Brussels to London in one hour 43 minutes.

Earlier this month a Eurostar train set a record time for the trip from Paris to London St Pancras, making the journey in just over two hours.

The train from Brussels reached speeds of more than 186mph on the high-speed link between the Kent coast and St Pancras International station.

Chief executive Richard Brown said: "Today's journey puts London to Brussels firmly within the two-hour club."

All Eurostar services travelling to France and Belgium from the UK will, from November 14th, use the 68-mile link between London and the entrance to the Channel Tunnel in Folkestone.

The use of a line from St Pancras, rather than Waterloo, will mean that Eurostar trains do not have to run on busy commuter lines between Kent and the capital.
